The importance of driver’s
education in reducing the number of deaths is very important because
a study by the AAA Foundation revealed that teens who go through a
structured Drivers Ed program are safer on the roads. Confidence
in your driving abilities allows you to comfortably and naturally
respond more effectively in difficult driving situations, and as a
result become a safer driver. When taking a drivers ed class you
learn about responsibility because you understand the
responsibilities of driving. Memory is also something you learn when
taking a drivers ed class because you memorize all the rules of
driving.
The
first step that can be done to reduce deaths while driving is always
wear your seatbelt. Also, use your blinkers, and stop at stop signs
when you see one. You know exactly what certain consequences can come
with your actions and be aware of the potential damage that comes
with an accident and are both more alert and more cautious while
driving. You should never drink or drive because that is one of the
biggest reasons that car accidents occur. Also, texting and driving
is another reason why car accidents occur. Driving the speed limit is
also a way to reduce car accidents, and deaths.
Yes,
I have been in a car accident with my father as a little girl because
a semi swerved into our lane, and hit us and we ended up inside a
canal flipped over, and a speaker landed on top of me, and the
seatbelt cut my dad’s stomach, so he had surgery and he was in the
hospital for almost a week. The car accident was almost 12 years ago,
and I still get nightmares because of how scared I was. I have also
been in a car with someone who was drinking and driving like crazy. I
have not been in a car with someone who was intoxicated after that
one time because we almost crashed multiple times, and that is scary
to have to go through that again.
Some
steps that you can take to become a better and safer driver are to
take a drivers ed class. Also, do a safety check every time you are
in your car and about to leave. Such as, checking your mirrors before
leaving in your car. Learn the rules of driving on the road, and all
the traffic laws, and signs. Always wear your seatbelts and turn on
your blinkers when turning. Remember to drive safe and do not drive
intoxicated, and do not text while driving.
