Driving isn’t just
about getting into a car and going to your next destination, its also
knowing the dangers that you face once your behind the wheel. Many
teen drivers don’t realize what the real dangers of driving are, and
this is most likely due to having little or no knowledge on this
topic. Before getting behind the wheel, one should know how to
control the vehicle in case of an emergency, as well as what to do
when one occurs. Those who are uneducated on driving are taking a
higher risk when driving to themselves and even their passengers. The
number of deaths would be greatly reduced if somehow they were better
educated on this topic and know that driving doesn’t mean your
invincible. To fix this problem I would recommend starting a program
that teens or adults could voluntarily take. It would introduce the
idea of how to be safe while driving as well as what the
possibilities are when on the road. It could show them the statistics
and that accidents occur more than what the average person would
think and that it could happen to anyone. Showing them that their
actions on the road can affect their safety and others as well and
teach them safer ways of the road. Having those who are uneducated
the consequences driving could have would decrease the risks they
would take while driving. I have had some experience with being in
the car with friends and they were not being very safe. Its not the
best feeling when you know that your life could be in danger while
that’s the last thing on the drivers mind. You feel as if they don’t
care when it could actually be that they just aren’t as educated on
the risks of driving as much as you may be. I felt as if I should
have reminded them that driving is a responsibility and not a
privilege given to anyone. It needs to be done safely or the results
could be deadly. To be a better and safer driver, I can remember that
when I am driving, I am not only responsible for those in my vehicle
but others on the road as well. One wreckless move done by me could
be a serious consequence for another. I Can remind myself and my
friends that driving isn’t a game or something to do when your bored,
its something that gets you from place to place when done safely.
Driving is international, there are cars everywhere in modern day,
the risks are getting higher as well as the deadly results. Educating
more people on safety and consequences can lower theses statistics
with time and dedication.
