My
name is Chloe Baker and I am a senior at Barbers Hill High School.
People all over the world and of all ages need to understand the
importance of safe driving. The importance of drivers ed is
very essential, drivers ed teaches you everything you need to know
about road signs, how a car works, and how to drive and park a car.
With this education, people are reducing the number of deaths every
year caused by driving.Steps that every person can take to help
reduce car accidents include: go the speed limit, stop at stop signs,
stop at red lights, wear your seatbelt, do not text and drive, and
have no distractions in your vehicle. When I was 10 years old, I was
apart of a car accident. I was going to the beach with my mom. She
was driving down the main road and a truck was not paying any
attention and pulled out of a gas station. My mom’s car went
sliding down the road. The accident happened in a blink of an eye.
The car accident must’ve been really loud because people in their
beach houses heard the crash and came to help us. I am grateful for
all their help and concern. Some steps that I should take to become a
better driver are: not texting and driving, not changing my music
while I drive, don’t go over the speed limit, have less people in
my car, stop doing rolling stops, and look at my blind spot and look
in my mirrors more often.
