I
once had a near death experience of being in a car accident that made
me change the way I drive today. I was on my way home from college
and I was about to the I-95 Highway. The day was raining and of
course the streets were slippery. When I was getting to the light, I
decided to accelerate a little on the curve to take the light while
it was green, the problem is that when I passed the light and tried
to do the curve, my brakes went of and I almost crashed against the
cars in the other section of the road. Thankfully, I was able to
maneuver my car to the side grass and crashed it with a signal pole,
with only my rear mirror being hit. This experience taught me how to
be a responsible driver. There are steps that could be taken in order
to have safe haven streets. This include: To keep attention and eyes
on the road at all times(No-multi-tasking allowed),wake up a little
bit earlier to plan ahead in case of an accident in the route, go the
speed limit, watch for weather, wear seatbelts the right way, no
drinking and driving and putting the phone away. All of this may look
simple but may be the difference between life of death. It is
important to follow the rules of the road and be courteous to other
drivers. No distraction is worth a car crash or a life. There are
multiple ways to reduce the number of deaths related to driving.
Anticipating the actions of others is a good idea. Good drivers,
drive defensively searching for cues for how other drivers might
react.Taking driving classes will also help in order to strengthen
the driving skills in somebody. The more someone takes driving
seriously, the better driver they will become on the road. The
education during the first years of driving experience is fundamental
for a safe development. Youths that have a Drivers ed are less
likely to be involved in crashes or to receive a traffic violation
during their first two years of driving. The purpose of Driver’s
ecucation to provide you with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes
needed for vehicle safety both as a driver and as a pedestrian.
Education can significantly reduces crashes and traffic violations
among new drivers.
