Drive Safe and Be Home
Safe.
When you might have started your drivers ed classes you
probably had this exact thought, “why do I have to do this.” I
asked myself that same question. Over time, being able to drive has
become the biggest privilege of all. With that comes a lot of
irresponsible drivers who damage other innocent people’s lives by
making one simple mistake on the road. Next time you might think,
“why do I have to do this, ‘Just think if anything that can go
wrong on the road weather its simple road signs you may not
understand or not understanding what to do when you lose control on a
slippery road. That is what Drivers ed is for, it’s to teach
you how to be safe on the road through different weather conditions
or uncommon signs. There are many steps to ensure safe driving. The
first step would be getting your certification from your online
drivers ed class and following that up by passing your
permit test. Your second step will be completing your training and
finally reaching the privilege of attaining a driver’s licenses.
Well, some of you may be past those steps already. Once you have
passed those steps and continue driving throughout your life you
should always review the updated Drivers Guide that your local DMV
will supply every year. If these three simple steps are not to be
taken then beloved family, friends, and loved ones may be lost. In
2019 a local fire chief who worked out of Gustine and who received
Fireman of the year lost his life to someone who wasn’t being safe on
the road. On this day this fire chief was on duty running earns for
the fire department. As he was driving a driver on the other lane
made a life changing decision for the both of them. The driver
decided to pass another car going the full force of fifty-five miles
per hour. He did not have enough time to get back into the lane and
that day an innocent firefighter lost his life even though he was
driving one hundred percent correctly. A wife, teenage daughter,
one-year-old son and the city of Gustine lost a beloved member. One
action will have another consequence, remember that. Someone will
always want you home safe at the end of the day. The safety of the
road is up to the ones who drive. Take the precautions and identify
the safety distances before proceeding on passing. You should always
take the safety of yourself and others into consideration. Three
simple steps can save three hundred lives. Drive safe and be home
safe.
