Drivers ed

Young
men and women around the world are constantly causing havoc on the
roads due to inadequate driving education. Unsafe drivers are usually
characterized by failure to follow safety laws, carelessness behind
the wheel, and lack of driving experience. Crashes and accidents can
occur at anytime in any place when no one is expecting it. Becoming a
new driver is one of the biggest responsibilities a teenager takes
on. Reckless driving not only puts the new driver but the passengers
and all the others on the road at risk of serious injury or even
death.

The
lack of knowledge about safety driving laws is a big reason why car
wrecks are more common today. Most crashes result from a person
pulling out before someone else at a light or sign. Others come from
unnecessary speeding on highways and backroads. Speeding is the most
commonly broken law, but it is also the most dangerous. As someone
drives faster and faster, they continuously increase their chance of
crashing the car. These accidents also occur from not stopping at
stop signs and poorly yielding onto roads. With becoming better
educated about driving laws, the world we live in would be a lot less
dangerous.

There
are many ways to be careless when behind the wheel. There can be many
distractions going in, around, and outside of the car that can cause
someone to lose focus on the road. Passengers in the car could be
yelling loudly or moving around while the vehicle is still moving.
The solution would be to have everyone in the car buckle up to
prevent any serious injuries in case something was to go wrong.
Texting and driving is also a common cause for most wrecks throughout
the world. Avoid picking up a cell phone or messing with the radio
while in the driver’s seat, or at least while the car’s moving.

Another
mistake made by drivers is lack of experience. Most accident’s in
the world are caused by young drivers who haven’t had a lot of time
behind the wheel. Not only must someone get used to driving a car,
but they also must adapt to the harsh weather conditions. When I was
younger, my family and I were involved in a wreck due to icy roads.
My stepfather lost complete control of the car and we slid freely
down the highway. Thanks to his knowledge on what to do in that
situation, we didn’t get hurt and made it home safely. If I were to
have been the one driving that night, it might hadn’t turned out so
great for us.

The
percentage of car crashes that occur in today’s world is far too
high. Driver’s are commonly disobeying laws, driving recklessly,
and lacking experience. The world has lost too many great young
people due to driving accidents. The risk is far too high to be
uneducated on the matter. Driving education should be emphasized in
classrooms and businesses around the world.
