Throughout recent
years, the number of vehicular accidents has exponentially risen. The
undeniable truth is each one of us can potentially be involved in
these horrific accidents without notice as to when it can occur.
Statistically speaking, the majority of these accidents are due to
speeding and drunk driving. Not only do these circumstances
jeopardize the lives of many, it also creates fear among the society.
These common causes of car accidents are due to the driver’s
ignorance of the fundamental road rules. The way drivers ed
prevents such incidents from occurring is by informing individuals
about the road rules, the consequences of neglecting said rules and
overall providing a better understanding of safe driving. Though this
procedure may seem trivial in lessening car accidents, take into
account that there are many who lack the knowledge of basic driver
education and still operate a vehicle. Another way in which we can
reduce the amount of deaths related to driving would be to provide
programs within vehicles that essentially replaces hands-on devices
while driving. This would drastically decrease deaths due to texting
and driving as drivers are usually distracted by their cell phones
and bypasses the physical aspect of responding to a text. Although we
can not forcefully prevent people from using their cell phones during
their drive, we can adapt and utilize our advancement of technology
to prevent them from using their phones and instead use a hands-free
device. Lastly, we as individuals have the power to reduce the amount
of car accidents from sharing ideas of preventions to practicing safe
driving.
