Behaviors behind
the wheel have become increasingly common amongst drivers in modern
society. Douglas Horton said, “Drive slow and enjoy the scenery
– drive fast and join the scenery.” People are always going fast
on the road to get to places quickly. Driving education is important
because it reduces crashes and traffic violations among new drivers.
When teens practice driving with inadequate formal driving
instructions their’s a higher rate of accidents. Driving education
classes makes a huge difference in reducing death due to appropriate
formal teaching and driving instruction.

Steps can be taken to reduce the number of death related to driving
including increasing law enforcement with communication and
persuasive emotional messages. Other steps include targeting young
adolescents before they are at the legal age to drive. Such as
drivers education communication campaigns and active learning
methods to reduce the number of death related to driving.

I have never had the experience of being in a car accident. However,
I have seen my family members use their phones while driving. Steps I
have taken to ensure safe driving is to remind them to not use a
handheld phone while driving because it provides a distraction that
will possibly lead to unsafe driving, accident, and death. I further
remind them that they should be setting a good example for me.

Steps I take to be a better and safer driver as well as help others
to become safer on the road includes being aware of my surroundings
and cut down on distractions. I also follow the laws of the road by
looking for posted speed limits, turning off my cell phone and put it
out of reach while driving, and telling all passengers to put on
their seatbelts. I can encourage others not to drive while under the
influence and while being distracted. Also, I can encourage others to
obey the traffic laws and enforcement to be a safe driver on the
road, which will significantly, reduced accidental related death.
