Some people tend to think that taking drivers ed is stupid or
unnecessary, but that’s wrong. Not only do they teach you how to be
behind the wheel, they teach you ways to save yours and others own
life. As of today there have been about 11,000 people found dead due
to drinking and driving or by being hit by a drunk driver. Think
smarter not harder. When you are drinking think of the three steps
before doing it. One, do you have a ride if you were to drink. Two,
do you think this a safe plan on where you are going and what you are
doing. And last, but not least will you be putting your own life at
risk or possibly others? I had a terrible incident happen when I was
about ten years old. My family and I were having a small get together
and all was good, kids playing on the trampoline and parents enjoying
the fire with good company, but that all went down the minute I had
heard a bang. Now at that age no one thinks fast. I thought it was
just something that had fallen or that some teens were playing and
had made the noise, but then I started to panic when I seen my
neighbors run. I went to look just being curious and yet there it was
it was, no teen being a teen. Our family friend Perry was lying in
the road trying to fight for his life. He had been hit by someone who
was not only high, but drunk as well. I had never been so scared. If
they hadn’t been drinking would Perry still be able to talk and walk,
but now because of that one selfish person, he is paralyzed from the
waist down and now no longer has a tongue due to biting on it so hard
when he was hit. I don’t think people understand how serious it is
until it actually happens in front of their face or it happens to
them one on one. People tend to think oh it’ll never happen to me, or
I’m too good, but that’s a lie. Always think to yourself if one is
it safe what am going to do and if I am putting anyone or myself in
danger. If it turns yes, don’t do it. Don’t risk your life just
because you’re drunk. Always think before you do.
