Driver Education Initiative – Importance of Cautious Driving

Learning
how to drive safely on the roads is an important part of life. Most
people have to finish drivers ed classes in order to receive
their driver’s license. These classes are crucial in learning the
rules of the road, but some people choose not to participate in them.
The number of deaths as a result of driving would be radically
reduced if everyone was required to take a drivers ed class
or even an online course because they would then learn and be aware
of how to avoid accidents.

I
have witnessed first hand people driving irresponsibly. When I was
ten years old I was in a car with my family and we were driving home
from vacation when someone who was speeding and driving carelessly
hit our car. It was not a bad accident, but it was something that was
a very scary to experience. The person who hit us could have caused
much more damage than they did and we are blessed that was not the
outcome. Irresponsible and uneducated people are the reason that
there are so many deaths and injuries from driving each year.

I
can become a better and safer driver by learning how to be more
cautious on the roads. When I am in a car I need to make sure that I
am not distracted by anything. It is important for others, and for
myself, to take into account that I am not the only one who can be
harmed by rash driving. Everyone needs to be careful of their
surroundings when driving because being in a car where someone is
being reckless is not only scary for your own life, but is
frightening for the lives of everyone around you.
