Are
you an educated driver? Whether you are or not we should all be
informed on why it is important to be educated while driving and what
to do if you are not. The first step we can all take is figuring out
who are we in this situation.
Driver
education is something that everyone should know but the reality is
that not many do. Being an educated driver means knowing the rules of
the road and learning reflexes. Having drivers ed is important
because without it you have no business on the road because if you
were put in a situation where you did not know what to do then you
are not only putting yourself but the many others around you in
danger that could result in death. So, with this in mind, we can all
help in reducing the number of deaths related to driving by
researching information and even taking a driver safety class to
become better educated.
As for myself, I have not been in any serious car accidents but I do
see a lot of irresponsible driving. One day I was in the car with my
brother and his phone started to ring when I told him he could answer
later but he refused. He answered the call and all went fine when he
was driving and I told him it was pure luck and that he would not be
that lucky next time. The next time it happened he answered again and
this time we swerved off the road a little bit and that was when I
realized how dangerous driving can be when you are trying to
multitask. After we got back on the road, I gave him a lecture on why
he should not even look at his phone while he is driving because we
could get seriously hurt and that time, he finally understood the
danger of it.
The
steps we can all take to become better and safer drivers are quite
simple. For one we can learn from those close to us like our parents
and grandparents who have been on the road longer than we have. We
could also go over the questions we answered when we took the permit
test to get our drivers permit. Then finally as said before we can
take a driver safety course and encourage others to go as well so we
can all become safer drivers together.
Knowing
why being an educated driver is important and how to become one if
not already is important because we can all help reduce deaths
related to driving. It is all about realizing you could be better and
taking the initiative to be as best and safe as you can on the road.
