Road
Danger

When I was just
11 years old, I wanted to drive so badly, it was my dream. At the
time I knew I couldn’t drive it was dangerous, plus I could reach
the gas pedal. I can remember this story like it was yesterday, one
beautiful day my family and I were going to Orlando for my birthday,
it was my 12th birthday and I was so excited to go, while
my dad was driving we sang songs and played I spy. During our drive
we would see some cars that are in huge accidents! Other people would
drive crazy, like someone swerved into our lane and almost hit our
car, my dad switched into the lane to the right and from the moment I
was scared for my life. I blacked out for what it felt like days, I
eventually woke up to bloody hands and broken pieces of glass
everywhere, I had bruises on every inch of my body. My family was
injured as well but no one had died which I was every thankful for.

Last year I took
a Drivers Ed class to learn how to drive and learn the rules of the
road. Before taking Drivers Ed I had my permit already, I been
driving for 3 years. I took the class to better my education in the
driving world the memory that I had when I was little would pop into
my head whenever there was someone moving into my lane. Taking
Drivers Ed helped me better in the long run, I know how to parallel
park and so much more!

The importance
of drivers ed is to make sure that your prepared to conquer
the roads and to make sure that you will be a safe driver.

Nearly
1.25 million people die in road crashes each year, on average 3,287
deaths a day.” We as people need to pay attention to the road,
this is ridiculous, having these many people dying on the road. To
reduce the number of deaths of driving we need to put the phones
away! Today we have a law that if you text and drive you will get a
DUI, drinking and driving can also harm the roads. When driving
please look and pay attention, you don’t know if a pedestrian is
jaywalking, or you have the radio to loud and you can’t hear.

Some
ways to be safe on the road is to not tailgate, you should give the
car in front of you some space. Watch for kids, kids can a handful so
when driving look for sings that say what out for kids when driving
in neighborhoods. Be cautious of your surroundings, and as silly as
this sounds keep two hands on the steering wheel, yes there are some
people out there that drive without there hands on the steering
wheel. So inconclusion be mindful of your surroundings, you may never
know who’s behind the wheel. Safe driving.
