Importance of Safe Driving

Safe
driving is a topic that has become increasingly more important in
today’s society. With so many annual deaths occurring on the road,
victims of these tragedies have started to speak out about their
stories. It is very important that everyone have an in depth
education about safe driving. Even if a person is not driving, they
should still understand the importance and mechanics of driving. Safe
driving education should be available to everyone. This education
being available to anyone allows a safer environment that ensures
collective knowledge about safety on the road. While some people may
believe that this education would be a waste of time, it is of utmost
importance that communities work to prevent accidents that should not
happen. As long as everyone driving understands and practices safe
driving, the likelihood of accidents on the road will decrease.
Many
steps can be taken by everyday people to prevent car accidents. If
teenagers or adults know they are going to be driving, they enroll in
driving school. Most American teenagers know that at 15 or 16 years
old they will begin driving school. We take the steps to learn
driving laws and understand signalling. Driving instructors take
people on drives where they go through the country roads, city roads,
highways, and regular neighborhoods. By taking these steps, young
drivers get a feel for being on the road and learn to not only pay
attention to what they’re doing, but to what others need. It’s
important to understand that without these precautions, people will
not know what they are doing and could potentially endanger others.
When
I was around seven years old, my family car was rear-ended with my
father, mother, and I inside. Nobody was injured and our car was not
seriously damaged, but the guy who hit us was on his way to a poker
game. My family or the man could have been seriously injured just
because he was late to a poker game. Another example is from just a
couple of months ago. Two of my friends were at a party one night and
they both had been drinking. One of them called my and said that she
was going to drive to my house and stay there. I had to talk her out
of it and pick them both up. Even if driving drunk doesn’t seem so
bad, it’s never a good idea and it is smarter to call a friend. I
believe that if someone calls and explains their situation, anyone
would be willing to come and help. It is never worth the risk of
people’s lives.
Safe
driving has been an issue on the rise in the past couple of years.
Since the invention of automobiles, society has improved driving
instructions and safety features within the cars themselves.
Regardless of all that has been done to prevent car accidents, we
should strive for greatness and continue to improve upon what has
already been done. Even with everyone taking the correct precautions
and following every rule perfectly, there will still be accidents.
Sometimes it is not the people, but the vehicles. It is vital that we
take responsibility for ourselves and others by encouraging safe
driving to everybody that gets behind the wheel. There are no
negative outcomes from practicing safe driving. As long as we are all
making an effort the road will become a safer place.
