Drivers ed is very
important because only by teaching people how to drive are they able
reduce accidents on the road. We can prevent this by making sure that
every one on the road is well educated in the art of driving. The
most prominent reason of death is drunk driving with 40% of
accidents. This could be prevented with more awareness on the extreme
risks of drunk driving. The second most amount of deaths in car
accidents was irresponsible driving with 33% of accidents. This could
be fixed by making sure everyone is properly educated when they get
on the road. In order to do this, we need to make drivers ed harder
to ignore and have driving retest every several years to make sure
people are still good drivers. There is also a large 58% of car
accidents that happen with only one vehicle. This means by educating
individual drivers we can stop the majority of accidents on the road.
We need to eliminate other forms of distracted driving as well like
texting. 1.6 million car crashes are caused texting and driving. That
is 25% of accidents that are completely preventable just by putting
down the phone. It is such a simple thing to do but 1.6 million
accidents still happen because of phones. There was a time when my
parents where driving when they were clearly aggravated at which
point they were rapidly accelerating and decelerating. They were not
paying the attention to the road that they should have this caused
them to almost be hit by a car speeding out in front of traffic. This
could have been fixed by waiting to drive till after they had cooled
down so there would be less mistakes while driving. Everyone can make
the roads safer just by making sure that that you are properly
educated before you start driving. Also, you need to make sure that
you are not under any type of influence or distracted by any means.
By doing these things the road becomes a safer place because there
will be less people who are being hazards on the road and it can
start with one person to stop 58% of car accidents.
