What
is the importance of drivers ed in reducing the number of
deaths as a result of driving? I believe that it is extremely
important for drivers ed classes to educate students in the
results of bad driving. Even small things, such as taking a glance at
your phone or passengers can cause an accident to happen. Students
need to learn that the smallest of things can cause accidents to
occur and can even cause death. I am not currently in a driver’s
education class, but I would like to hope that the classes teach
students about the dangers of driving and the results of unsafe
driving. When we don’t drive safely, accidents occur and deaths are
caused.
What
steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving?
We can restrict drugs more, such as trying to get rid of drugs
overall. We can achieve this with background checks on people who
want to purchase a vehicle. If a person wants to purchase a vehicle,
there should be background checks on them. Car dealers should try to
find out if the buyer is addictive to drugs, in recovery, and/or have
had a criminal record. Most people understand the effects of drunk
driving, some are just stuck in a void of addiction where it’s
harder to stop.
Have
you ever had an experience of being in a car accident or have seen
your friends of family members driving irresponsibly? Just last year,
my old bus driver ignored the stop sign and ran into a teacher’s
car. The bus was fine while the corner of the teacher’s car was
destroyed. Not much happened afterward, everyone in the bus was fine
and the teacher was extremely upset. After we were checked for
injuries, we just moved on to the school. I haven’t seen the bus
driver since. Everyone in my family drives safely, we all know the
consequences of reckless driving.
What
steps can you take to be a better and safer driver as well as help
others become safer on the road? I can watch my surroundings more
carefully. A main part in safe driving is to not drink or use any
kinds of drugs. People take advantage of drugs so much that they end
up hurting more than just themselves. For example, when someone is
drinking while driving and they get in a car accident, not only do
they get hurt, but the other people involved get hurt or they die.
Both teens and adults need to be educated on how to drive safely. If
there are any classes adults can take so they can learn how to drive,
then we need to get adults to take the classes.
In
conclusion, people who don’t drive safely end up either seriously
injured or dead. As a community, we need to educate adults and teens
how they can drive safer and the effects of reckless driving. That
