Thank
you for taking the time to read my essay, I would like to introduce
myself and say that my name Is Iris Gutierrez, one of the many
participants competing for this scholarship. There are specific
attributes about myself, that I would like to go into detail to and
explain why I deserve this scholarship.
My
career goals were always set since I was young. My interests were
always leaning towards medicine. Although I did want to start or
learn about new majors I always found myself being pulled back to
medicine. My goal rn is to be a registered nurse, after I do achieve
a steady career as a registered nurse I may choose to study for a
higher position. Before I can even get started on my career I must
start a nice foundation/ base and that Is my education. I am
currently taking college courses as a high-school junior. I am very
glad this opportunity came to me and I chose to take It. Even though
the work Is different and more intense, I still believe I have been
handling It well and this program helps me start off the strong
foundation I need for a successful and guaranteed career.
I
was always an enthusiastic student. I almost got that comment on
every single one of my report cards I have received, in my
educational career. For most of my elementary school years I attended
a couple of different schools, In california. I adapted very quickly
and did not mind the transitions. The toughest move was the move to
Las Vegas. I enjoyed my middle school years and also my first two
highschool years were great. Suddenly, I was attending college still
as a high-school junior. It was definitely not my plan, but I am
still astonished and grateful for the things the program Nevada State
Highschool does for me and many students.
The
needs for this scholarship are not dependable but It would be a great
benefit. Not also helping me financially for my academics. This
scholarship would motivate me, to do better and set my standards
super high. My family was never a family with a lot of money. My
parents had enough to provide us with the basics.They are such hard
workers and try to provide everything they can to me. For me to be
able to pay them back just by me being successful will be one of the
proudest moments for myself. Not just myself but for my parents to be
able to say that their daughter has graduated from high-school and is
getting a head start In college, especially me being the oldest and
first one in our family to attend college. I can not let them down.
Never
more, one of the many things I will continue to do Is be successful.
Although there are many difficult situations and obstacles I must
overcome. I try my best to continue pushing. I want to be successful
and try to provide for my family that has helped me so much.
