Necessities
to Safe Driving

Driver
education is a critical value to safe driving among our fellow
drivers. Going through drivers ed, people experience
life-saving skills relating to safe driving. Some examples of what I
learned by taking a drivers ed course are how to correctly take
precautions to what is surrounding me, the consequences of being
under the influence of an over the legal dose of a drug or alcohol
substance, and how it is extremely important to always stay focused
while driving. Terrible incidents can happen in just a blink of an
eye. Taking all of these skills into consideration will limit and
reduce the number of deaths due to vehicles annually.

There
are a countless number of steps that you can take to reduce deaths
relating to driving. Some examples of the steps that you should take
are carefully switching lanes in traffic when needed, using turn
signals correctly and responsibly, avoiding the use of your cellphone
while driving, and I cannot stress this enough, do

not

drive intoxicated! These are just a few of the hundreds of simple
techniques people can do to save many lives while driving.

Everyone
has been through a minor or major car accident or has seen an example
of a bad driver. Personally, I have been in a minor car accident with
my grandma before. My grandma was driving up this steep hill on our
way to our town’s local pool. At the top of the pool there was a
three-way stop. There was a car on the left who did
not
take the short amount of time to check his surroundings to see if the
road was clear. Instead, he ran the stop sign causing him to crash
into my grandma’s vehicle. Another example that I have experienced
with reckless driving is watching my mom text and drive at a
stoplight. My own mother was too absorbed into her phone while she
was behind the wheel. I warned her multiple times to wait to message
the person back. My mother did not listen to me and thus caused her
to rear-end the car in front of her. Simple little mistakes like
these examples can and will cause damage to your surroundings.

There
are many steps that you can follow to become a better and safer
driver. The more you actually practice driving, the more experienced
you will be. Another good safe skill to have is to be patient while
driving. So many people are in a hurry while driving, and that can
lead to dangerous car accidents. Being alert at all times while
driving will increase your chances of avoiding an accident. These are
just a few simple examples that everyone can take to save the lives
of thousands.
