More
than 30,000 people die every year from car accidents and three
million people every year are injured from car accidents just in the
United States. One out of every four car accidents are caused by
texting and driving, making it one of the main causes of death in car
accidents. The amount of people that die from car accidents each year
is more than how many people were killed in the Iraq war and the
Afghanistan war combined. Being an educated driver is very important.
It keeps yourself and others safe on the roads. It also helps to
reduce the number of deaths that result from driving. It keeps you on
the look out for others and how they are driving, your surroundings,
and any possible threats such as patches of ice or wildlife. Some
steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths would be to
make sure your car is working properly before taking off, make sure
your phone, or any other devices you have with you, are off or on
silent. These steps will help to decrease the risk of a death while
driving and will also make you a better, safer driver. Looking out
for your own driving as well as others is important in keeping
everyone safe. If you catch yourself becoming distracted while
driving, try to reduce the distraction so that you can arrive at your
location safely.
