deaths as a result of driving? • What steps can be taken to reduce
the number of deaths related to driving? • Have you ever had an
experience of being in a car accident or have seen your friends or
family members driving irresponsibly? • What steps can you take to
be a better and safer driver?

The
importance of drivers ed in reducing the number of deaths
because drivers ed teaches you the rules of the road, such as
no texting and driving and no driving under the influence. Drivers
education also teaches you how to avoid dangerous situations by being
informed of how accidents occur and how you can prevent them all
togther. Some steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths
are to make sure you are always aware of your surroundings. Such as
if there are any branches on the road or pedestrians close to the
side of the road. Additionally, always make sure that when you have
people in the car they are not trying to distract you, making sure
you come to a complete stop when at stoplights and stop signs, not
having the music too loud to the point where you cannot focus, and
most importantly never going on your phone while you are driving.
Furthermore, I have been in the car when both my friends and family
members have been on there phone or have not worn seat belts, and I
find it appalling that they would want to risk their lives and mine
just too look at their phone or answer a text. The text can wait, the
person will still be there once you reach your destination and park
the car. A text message or changing the music on your phone is in no
way more important than someone’s life. Some steps you can take to
be a better and safer driver are to never look at your phone, or talk
on your phone, always be aware of stoplights and stop signs, never
have someone distracting you in the car, never drive when your
emotions are controlling your actions, such as being furious or
beyond upset with someone or something in your life. Lastly, even if
you are late for work, school, or an event, there is no need to speed
up to get there on time, it is not worth it to speed to get there on
time, because chances are you could get into an accident.
