The
importance of a drivers ed, aside from reducing the number
deaths, is to also reduce crashes and
traffic violations among new drivers. Young drivers who have not
completed drivers education are 75 percent more likely to get a
traffic ticket, 24 percent more likely to be involved in a fatal or
injury accident, and 16 percent more likely to have an accident.
To avoid having
several deaths related to driving,
you must avoid drinking alcohol while driving since it can impair
your judgment, slow your reaction time, and claimed more than 10,000
lives in 2012. You must also avoid texting and driving since 3,154
people were killed in
distracted driving crashes in 2013, but it is easy to see that the
near-misses were likely a multiple of that. Lastly, you must
follow all the driving rules and know speed limits since going either
to fast or slow can cause death.
I’ve
had an experience of being in car accident when my family was driving
to a camp ground. During that drive, my dad got distracted since I
was handing him a water bottle until he hit the back of a truck and
destroyed my mom’s van. So, we had a police officer drive us to a
fast-food place just so my dad can call a friend to pick us up and
drive us home. Since then, my dad has respected him.
To
be a safe driver and to help others be a safe driver, you must keep
your car in good shape since investing in the appropriate maintenance
will ensure your vehicle is up to snuff and safe, wear a safety belt
since no
matter how far you’re driving or whether your passengers are riding
in the front or back, it will save your lives, Only
drive when you and your loved ones are well rested since getting
behind the wheel when you’re exhausted can make it difficult
to pay attention and make fast decisions.
Maintain
a safe distance, since it’s never a good idea to get too close to
the other cars around you on the road
and
that
you
or your loved ones driving can see everything going on around you and
that you have room to act quickly if necessary.
Lastly,
you or your loved ones driving must properly
position the hands because drivers
that keep their hands lower on the wheel, either at 9 and 3 or 8 and
4 o’clock, gives them more stability and control and it’s the
most functional option.
