When
I first got my drivers permit, I was so glad to finally get on the
road and become a teen driver. My first road experience was a scary
one, I made a wide right turn which almost landed me into my
accident. But ever since I fully got into drivers ed, caution
became an important aspect of driving. Statics have shown that the
age group that is mostly affect by car accidents are teens and young
adults within the age gap 16-25 years. The situation that has mostly
resulted to the death of these teens and young adults is texting
while driving. When we text and drive, there could be possible
chances of a person losing their life, so why not put the phone away
and focus on driving? The answer is that is that sometimes we as
teens and young adults succumb social distraction like friends asking
to change the music playing, talking about social media news, or even
not waiting patiently to text one another.

While on
the topic of social distraction, it is only fair that the social
pressure should be brought into this conversation. Some of the social
pressures include speeding or drinking while driving. Social pressure
is indeed a real thing, students believe that fitting into social
lives that will make them fit in. The need to fit in and be cool is
among the driving forces that have caused thousands of students to
lose their lives. With drivers ed, an exclusive information
and view of the consequences of speeding or drinking while driving
students see how it affects their lives in the long run. When a
person gets into any form of accident; it does not only affect them
individually, but it affects the community at large. We should all
make the drastic decision to be informed about drivers ed to
learn how to be safe.
