What is the
importance of drivers ed in reducing the number of deaths as a
result

of driving?

I think the
importance is for drivers to learn how to safely operate a vehicle.
Drivers

must know how to
drive in daylight as well as at night. They must also know how to

drive in all
types of weather. All it takes is one split second for an accident to
be

caused. The more
practice one gets, the better they will be at focusing while behind

the wheel which
will mean less deaths.

What steps can be
taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving?

First of all,
keeping your eyes on the road while driving is a big step that can be
taken to

reduce the number
of deaths related to driving. When driving you have to drive for you

and others as
well. Another step is not getting distracted by a ringing cell phone,

eating while
driving, or even looking at a passenger riding in your vehicle.

Have you ever had
an experience of being in car accident or have seen your friends or

family members
driving irresponsibly?

I can remember
being involved in a minor accident while my mom was driving. She

was stopped at a
red light in Conyers, GA. We were on our way to my baseball

tournament. I can
remember the light turning green while my mom was waiting for the

car in front of
her to accelerate, I heard a boom. Suddenly, we were thrust forward
by a

lady hitting us
from behind. We were blessed not to get hurt at all. There was minor

damage on my
momʼs car. And there wasnʼt any damage on the ladyʼs car that hit
us.

Luckily, a police
officer was in line at the light as well. The officer directed us to
a side

road to get us
out of traffic. He questioned both my mom and the lady that hit us.
He

gave both a
police report. I was happy nobody was hurt and was ready to get to my

game to play!

What steps can
you take to be a better and safer driver as well as help others
become

safer on the
road.

I think that
taking a drivers ed course can help people become better and
safer

drivers. Also,
taking a defensive driving course can help as well. Both will give

scenarios of real
life driving. Other steps that come to mind are people keeping their

cellphones down
while driving, not eating while driving, get enough rest or pull over
in a

rest area if you
feel tired, and no driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
