Being a safe and educated driver is very important. Following road
laws and taking precaution can protect not only yourself, but also
the people around you. Drivers ed is critical. Driving comes
with responsibility, because mistakes on the road always follow with
consequences. We must be alert and cautious for any potential
dangers. In the U.S. there are about 90 people that die from motor
vehicle accidents every day. There are various ways to reduce that
number. One very important and efficient way is to remove
distractions. It is very important to pay attention to road signs,
incoming cars, lanes, pedestrians, and traffic lights. We must pay
attention to the road by keeping ourselves focused. It is illegal to
text and drive. A good precautionary measure is always for the driver
to stay away from the phon. And if they are carrying any passengers,
it is also good for the passengers not to distract the driver. Every
person knows what gets them distracted, their limits. If you see that
the loud music is keeping you from driving safely, turn it down.
Always follow traffic rules and speed limits. The speed signs are
custom to the number of pedestrians, how wavy or bumpy the roads are,
how many traffic lights or stop signs there are. The speed limits are
there to keep you safe. One very important way to personally keep you
safe, is to always wear your seatbelt. Seatbelts save lives. Also, do
not drink and drive. Be cautious and make sure that you never get in
the car with a drunk driver. I personally have never heard of anyone
in my family getting into major motor vehicle accidents, as my
parents take driving very seriously. Some of my friends have gotten
into accidents, from lack of driver awareness. I can be safer by
making sure everyone wears their seatbelts and removing any
distraction. Also, by paying attention to road signs and pedestrians.
By taking these precautionary measures, I am not only keeping myself
safe but also the people around me.
