Driver
education is really important especially for upcoming drivers which
are teenagers because they are more likely to get into an accident.
Teenagers should be taught about the importance and responsibilities
of driving because it is a privilege to drive. Driving should be
taken carefully and be aware of everything, especially of the
rules. So there are things that should be done before rewarding people
with a driver’s license.
The
importance of drivers ed in reducing the number of death
impacts greatly the outcomes because of the knowledge they have of
driving. Drivers ed is a way to understand the rules of driving
and how to drive around others so there is no unfortunate outcome to
not knowing anything. The rules of the road are important like how
the stop light works, stop signs, etc. because if no one understood
what the colors on the stop light meant then there would be a greatly
amount of accidents each year. To reduce the number of deaths in
driving we could stop off by making schools especially high school
take a mandatory class on drivers ed for a whole year. After
they had taken the whole year to prepare there should be a final test
on drivers ed and if they pass they would be allowed to get a
permit. Once they have permit if later they would like to get their
license then they would have to take a driving test and have the
instructor ask questions about the rules when they are driving to see
if they remember the rules.
Even
though many people do know the rules of the road and the
responsibility there is in driving they still don’t follow all of
the rules. For example, my friend is 18 years old and she has her
license already and knows the rules of the road there are sometimes
when she is driving and uses her phone to text someone or text them
back causing them to take their eyes off of the road. To be a safer
driver myself I would always before driving put my phone away
somewhere where I wouldn’t be tempted to get it and use it. I would
also review the rules of the road and to impact others I would start
by helping the people close to me be safer. Like my friends if I ever
see them using their phone when driving I would tell them that’s not
right and that even if you take your eyes off the road for a second
the impact of the outcome won’t only affect you but the people
driving around you.
Even
if we start off by helping the people around us we can help the world
better their education. Not only the knowledge of rules but it helps
reduce the death having to do with driving. So drivers ed
should be mandatory for all teenagers and even for adults because it
never hurts to review the rules once in awhile.
