In
One Second
It
doesn’t take long to get in a car accident and change the way you
live forever whether its having PTSD from the accident, becoming
paralyzed, or being severely injured. In a split second everything
can change. Be smart, responsible, good example for others as you are
driving.
A
lot of young people especially think it is cool to speed or drive
like a maniac but in reality its stupid. It can put the lives of
others at risk. Why should they lose their life because you did not
know how to control your car at such a high velocity. Be the change
that can help reduce car accidents, drive safely and avoid breaking
the laws because it can have consequences. Some ways to become a safe
driver is to drive at the speed limit, its given for a reason, don’t
run red/yellow lights it can cause an accident. It is more difficult
to immediately stop when you’re going at 65 mph than 45mph if there
is need to.
It
is so important to be healthy while driving because it can be
distracting when you don’t feel so great. That also applies to
drinking alcohol or consuming drugs before getting into a car to
drive. Alcohol and Drug consumption are also one of the biggest
reasons for car accidents. You are not conscious of your surroundings
and of the cars around you that is very dangerous for the other
people driving on the road.
Texting
and driving is also one of the biggest reasons for car accidents,
people think just one text won’t hurt but they don’t know what’s
going to happen next. Make sure that those that need to know, know
you are driving to help avoid being inclined to check your phone for
any text messages or calls because it will distract the driver and
keep his or her eyes off the road. If it really is an emergency pull
over or at a parking lot is much safer than in the road where other
people’s lives can be at risk.
Wear
your seat belt no matter the destination whether it’s far or just
around the corner. It takes one second to put it on and can save your
life in a moment. Always make sure all the people in your vehicle
have a seatbelt on. Do not encourage others that it isn’t necessary
or helpful when in reality it is. Also make sure to double check the
roads when you are about to make a left hand turn or right turn.
Watch out for pedestrians and other cars. Will you make it? Are they
driving at such a high speed that it can cause an accident? Wait and
be patient when it is safe to turn. Pedestrians are often not thought
of but they are there and if there is a chance to avoid not killing a
pedestrian, do it.
Just
one second is all it takes for your life to change. Don’t be
ignorant be cool follow the rules of the road it will be a lifesaver
one day. Be responsible and smart when driving, don’t drink and
drive or speed just because you are late. It is better to arrive late
than not arrive at all.
