When I drive, it can
sometimes be hard to get anything done. Maybe I want to change the
song or reply to that text. However, driving with passengers can make
the whole driving experience safer and more convenient.
If passengers would
force drivers to give up their phones while they are driving, it
would relieve the temptation to use it. The passenger can change the
song, choose a destination and send a short reply for the driver so
that all the driver has to think about is driving. This has worked
quite well for me in both situations. For one, when I have a
passenger, I never have to stop to change the song, I can tell the
passenger to find it for me or even better, they control all the
songs and I don’t even think about it. As a passenger I always do
the gps safer and, it makes it more beneficial because I can devote
all of my energy to watching the map and looking for turns. Texting
is also an important thing to give up because texts take a lot of
mental power to do, you have to write a whole message and read the
previous one. As a passenger, I am in charge of communicating.
Driving with
somebody is beneficial for both parties. Try and give your passengers
a role in the drive to make a safer trip. Nobody wants drivers to be
texting so prevent that.
