Importance
of Safe Driving
The importance of
safety on the road is substantially greater than anything else that
is happening while you’re driving. Not just your own safety, but
the safety of the others in your car and the safety of the people in
the other car. Being a safe driver is not only about your
perspective. To become truly safe while driving you must understand
every driver’s perspective. That is why being a safe driver does
not only involve knowing the laws but knowing the nature of how
people drive.
Everyone can think
of a part of town or a time frame that is known to provoke bad
driving. Whether it is rush-hour, a construction zone, or a congested
intersection. This makes knowing how to drive that much more
important. You may have a driver’s license and have plenty of years
under your belt, but if you cannot follow the safety laws or the flow
of driving, you are going to cause an accident. Too many deaths are
caused by driving each day especially as a result of a simple
mistake. Using a turn signal, switching lanes with plenty of space,
and keeping a safe distance between you and the car in front of you
are a small amount of the many tips we are taught during drivers ed.
These are not just suggestions to keep in mind. They are very
important to your safety and others to reduce the amount of accidents
that result in death. These are also very important when nasty
weather conditions affect the roads. Knowing rain produces oil on the
streets is one reason the keep more distance between you and the car
in front of you. Following the simple rules of the road lead to a
safer driving experience.
I have never been an accident, but I know people who have. Though
they were minor fender-benders, it was a traumatizing experience for
them. My friend is learning to drive, and she rear ended a car at a
stop light. There were no physical injuries, but the accident causes
mental trauma that creates a deteriorating confidence. Being in a car
with someone who is driving recklessly is frightening and it makes
you realize how easy and quick an accident could happen. Imagine you
caused your friends injuries or death because you did not stop at a
stop sign or decided to speed on a congested road. How would you
feel?
To avoid accidents
and deaths, follow simple rules of the road, and learn how others
drive around you to become prepared for a potential abnormality that
could result in a major accident. Picture family, friends, or the
other person in a hospital bed because of your lack of attention when
driving. That text is not that important, you can change the song at
a stop light. What is important is your life, and statistics prove
how easy it is to forget that.
