The
Importance of Safe Driving

“Stay
calm and drive safely” means when we drive safely it saves
lives. It also helps us avoid the different risks we face on the road
and prevent accidents that can put our lives in danger.
Indeed,
it is very important to drive safely, because it is a very essential
way to secure safety on the different roads and highways. There are
different types of drivers on the road, for example: teenagers,
senior citizens, motorcycle riders, and bicycle riders. Nowadays,
young drivers tend to have a lot of insecurity because they do not
drive seriously and they do not exactly respect the traffic laws.
Personally, I have experienced driving with my own young adult cousin
who driving extremely fast, tends to not care about traffic rules and
other drivers; which makes me feel fearful for my safety and
security. This all leads to dangerous risks and accidents that are
the cause of death for teenagers on the road. Of course, there are
also elderly people who drive in ways that are risky. From my
perspective, the majority of young people with the increase of
traffic leads to more accidents and crashes.
It
is very important to: respect traffic laws and speed limit, focus on
driving, have enough space between cars, not to be distracted by
talking on the phone or sending text messages, avoiding alcoholic
beverages, not eating while driving because it can distract us, and
make sure the seatbelt is secure. By following the safety laws, it
can reduce the chances of being in an accident. Once I am eligible to
have a driver’s license, I intend on becoming a careful driver both
for my safety and the safety of others on the road. Driving safely is
very important because it can save our lives in the various dangerous
conditions on the road. Also, it helps us avoid imprisonment for road
violations or violations of driving laws. Lastly, on a financial
note, insurance rates rise after experiencing collisions. Therefore,
driving carefully is extremely important. I need to be aware of this
because my family is not financially able to afford high insurance
rates.
My long-term career
goal is to become a medical doctor in the Air Force. My mother works
long hours in a bakery to support my two sisters and I. It has been
extremely difficult for her, especially after the death of my father
years ago. The financial stress of college will fall on my shoulders
because she will not be able to pay for me. It is so important for me
to go to college and fulfill my career goal because all over the
world, people need medical care and assistance. As a great future
multi-lingual Air Force doctor, I am confident I will be able to
accomplish this with the help and security of this scholarship. This
scholarship will provide me with financial relief and allow me to
focus on my grades and passing my classes.
