Careful Driver
In
2018 alone, around 40,000 people died of car-related deaths in the
United States. According to the CDC, “Each
day in the United States, approximately 9 people are killed and more
than 1,000 injured in crashes that are reported to involve a
distracted driver.” Driving under the influence of alcohol or
texting is deadly and has claimed the lives of many people. These are
all forms of death-related driving because it has killed many people
over inane things that we Americans do. This is why we should
increase the importance of driver’s safety in America, take steps
to reduce deadly driving, take care of others who drive, and know-how
to be safer on the road so that we can increase better driving
conditions for all Americans. According to DriversEd.com, “Drivers
education courses are an excellent way for teens to learn the rules
of the road from licensed professionals, geared with the knowledge to
train them.” Drivers ed teaches early drivers about road
signs and defenseless driving. This gives reasoning on the importance
of drivers ed on our youth to decrease driver accidents and also
death. There are also reasons to improve driver’s safety. For
example, one way to better our conditions on driving is to always put
signs on the roads and freeways that driving while texting and under
the influence is illegal to notify drivers about these immoral acts.
We should also teach our older and mature generation to tell
early-licensed kids to not drink or text while driving-and give
reasons on how we can get distracted and the consequences of it.
Also, we should also show teens about simple tasks to do about
driving so that they can be aware of it. I have been in incidents
with my friends and family members that do careless things while
driving. One occasion that my friend did is moving the wheel
uncontrollably and not stopping soon enough. My friend and I almost
got into an accident because he was driving fast and didn’t stop
soon enough until we almost crashed. I personally have my
instruction’s permit and I’m still learning how to drive so that
I can get my driver’s license. When I drive with my parents, they
teach me how to stay in control of the wheel at all times and when to
switch lanes. Then, they later test me by driving me to places and
managing how to drive on the road. I obviously also have to follow
the rules on the road as well. Lastly, I also have to be aware of
what other drivers are doing. By having a drivers ed
knowledge, knowing the steps on how to act while driving, and knowing
the consequences, we can be good drivers. By not texting or drinking
under the influence, it drastically drops the rates of death by
driving. The importance of the driver’s responsibility to do
harmless things while driving increases the roads safe as well, and
makes us all happier in the end.
