Dangers of the Road

Driving
can easily be considered one of the most important tasks that people
must accomplish in their lives. We need to drive in order to get to
certain places like a job or school because not everything is walking
distance from our homes. Since driving is so essential to our
everyday lives, that means basically everyone starts driving at one
point. Since everyone is on the road at one point, it can be very
easy to become or run into a crazy driver. These drivers are the
reasons why there are plenty of deaths all around the world. When
you’re just starting to learn about the road, courses like drivers
education are required. You get to know the basics of the road and
are informed about all the markings and signs down the highways. When
you don’t know the basics of the road, you are causing a bigger
risk in a fatal crash because you won’t know what anything means.

A
simple step that can be taken in order to reduce the number of deaths
is to just be a smart driver. To be a smart driver, you must be aware
of everything that is going on on the road so you should always keep
your eyes and head up. For some reason there are plenty of drivers
who like to speed, but not all new drivers know that the speed limit
must not be passed. If you’re driving too fast, you could notice
something last second and end up braking too late. Speeding is one of
the top reasons of death because there are drivers who don’t
understand what can happen to them or others.

From
an experience that my older brother went through, he was hit from his
left side and it was because the person that hit him was going fast.
My brother was exiting a residential area and was making a left turn.
He couldn’t clearly see all the traffic because there were also
parked cars on the street he was leaving. After looking both ways and
thinking he was clear he saw a car zooming, but it was too late to go
or reverse on time. The guy who hit his car was going approximately
30 miles per hour which is 5 miles over the speed limit. Thankfully
nobody was injured, but my brother’s car ended up being totaled. He
had to buy a new car which was lots of work since money doesn’t
grow from trees. From his experience, I learned that not only getting
into a car crash is dangerous, but it can be very expensive to get a
new car if you’re still capable of driving.

To
conclude, you should always be aware of how you are driving and where
you’re driving. You should always be awake and aware when preparing
to hit the road. If you don’t feel ready to hit the road, then you
shouldn’t because risking your life and somebody else’s is not
worth it.
