Act Upon the Accident
There are multiple reasons why someone could get in a car accident.
Some could be caused by drinking alcohol, taking drugs, texting, not
owning a license and other distractions that could cause people to
not focus on the road. For the short period I’ve been on this earth
I have witnessed multiple car accidents, not all caused by the same
thing but have had the same outcome. Seeing people helpless and in
pain is not an easy thing to see but we all need to know how to act
upon it.
Even though we
all want the number of car accidents to decrease, it can be hard to
get people to follow the law. One thing that we can all do is provide
basic first aid when acting upon an accident. In high school we are
all taught CPR and first aid. These are basic skills that everyone
can use to save help someone’s life. If you are in a situation
where you must act upon a car accident, call 911 and they can also
provide you with care instructions to help save someone’s life.
Another reason
why people get in car accidents is because they do not have the
skills that are provided in a drivers ed class. This is
something that is required by the law to take and pass for you to
safely drive on the road. Unfortunately, there are people who don’t
follow these laws and cause themselves and others to suffer from
accidents. Not being educated on the rules of the road can cause poor
communication with other drivers. In most cases I’ve seen, people
under the age of 16 will drive on the road and crash because of not
know how to drive the car as well as not knowing the rules of the
road.
Something that I
will do to that I keep myself and others out of danger is to make
sure that I am always ready to drive. Meaning that I will put my
phone away and turn off any distractions that it may cause. As well
as being fully awake, I know that my mindset is not in the right
place to be driving if I am tired and could possibly fall asleep
behind the wheel. I will encourage friends and family to call me or
an uber if they need a ride home because they are in a mental state
that is not capable of driving. Driving is a hard thing to do
especially if the driver distracted. We need to keep our roads safe
by providing care for those in danger and following the laws.
