Did
you know that volunteers contribute $200 million to Australia’s
economy, this helps the country develop further and volunteers often
feel happy to have been able to visit the country on this basis. The
time off during the projects allow volunteers to take in the beauty
of Australia plus I have about 18 hours of community service besides
I have been volunteering for 6 years since 7th grade and I will not
stop volunteering. I have participated in, National Junior Honor
Society, National Honor Society, tutoring at imagining rose-field,
blood drive, sock drive delivery, sock Drive for homeless, and the
NHS winter grams sales volunteers event.
National
Junior Honor Society and National Honor Society are community service
and scholarship programs that help students gain volunteering hours.
I joined the National Junior Honor society in 7th grade and I was
able to do community service through my school. I did community
service by selling food after school, cleaning floors, and giving out
advertisement. National Honor Society was great for me in high school
and it helps me get into college. I was able to do community service
through high school by preparing special events for the school. These
programs help me volunteer for things I love it because it’s fun and
I am not bored.
The
blood Drive and tutoring at imagining rose-field are the two events I
volunteer for and I have to say, these two events were awesome. I
have been doing tutoring at imagining rose-field for 2 years and I do
it after school every Wednesday. This event is where I get to tutor
k-5 at an elementary school called Imagine rosefield and the reason
why I did this event is that I love children. The Blood Drive was a
one-time event that happens this year at my school call Imagine prep
at the surprise. The Blood Drive was for students that could donate
their blood for a good cause. And so I help prepare the refreshments
and set up the stands with other volunteers in the morning.
The
NHS winter grams sales event was where I had to sell candy grams to
other students because it was around Christmas. I did it during my
lunch period and I also had to deliver some candy grams to other
students because students were allowed to request shipping to other
students, so they could surprise someone special in their life. Sock
Drive for homeless was where I started collecting other sock
donations from other classrooms with other volunteers. It took an
hour to collect all the socks in each classroom but it worked with
help from the volunteers. And the Sock drive delivery was where I had
delivered the sock donations to the food bank with other volunteers
and I volunteer for 5 hours. These events are the ones I earned the
most hours out of and I always manage my time to volunteering.
