Educated drivers
are good at making decisions that will be the best decision for you
and the passengers that are travelling with you are also known as
defensive drivers. Defensive driving lowers the number of deaths.
Being aware of what’s happening around you when you’re behind the
wheel, makes you decide what decision to make so that you don’t
hurt yourself, your passengers, or someone else. Driving is a
privilege not a right.

Distracted
driving inflates the number of deaths on the road. In 2013, 3,154
people were killed in distraction-related crashes. The way most
people get distracted while they’re driving are eating, sending a
text message, or just looking at their cell phone. Eat before you
get ready to drive, Wait until you are not driving to send a text
message or play with your cell phone.

As a driver
myself, I’ve seen cars next to me that hop from lane to lane with
no blinker, going 20 miles an hour over the speed limit, and running
red lights. During the time that I’ve been driving, I only had one
accident and that was when I backed my mom’s expedition into
concrete at a feed store.

I can enhance the quality of my driving is by being more attentive to
my surroundings, set my mirrors to a point where I can have the best
view for when I back up, and try not to let my eyes get focused on
the car that is only in front of me.
