When
I was first learning to drive, I was terrified and overwhelmed. I
felt like there was so much to learn and remember when getting behind
the wheel. I thought my drivers ed class was extremely helpful.
There was a person trained in helping me drive and do what is right.
Without this instructor, it would have been my mom who had not taken
the test since she was 16. The case for a lot of people is only
having a parent teach them to drive, and although experienced, they
may not be the best at teaching. I think the best way to keep the
roads safe is to have proper training. I think this could be a part
of deaths related to driving. I think another huge contribution is
being distracted. A lot of people think that it is okay to multitask
when driving. This does not only include texting, but talking on the
phone, changing a song, and eating. I think a good way to reduce
distractions is to strongly enforce laws against it. More tickets
should be issued if a phone is being used. Sometimes I am in a car
with my parents and they try to text and drive. I always tell them
that I can type the message for them. When with my friends, I will
change the song for them and encourage them to make a playlist that
they would want to listen to in the car. There is nothing that causes
me to have more road rage than distracted drivers and I always will
work to prevent it and safe lives.
