The
Hardships of Driving

One
of my first experiences with driving was with someone who went out of
his way to get me to rear-end him. I was stopped at a green light
(first time driving) when I turned right. This guy sped in front of
me and brake-checked me. I could’ve hit him. He wanted me to.

People
like that are what make the roads a dangerous place to drive. People
whose only goal is to get to their destination as fast as possible.
Driving requires patience, attention, and caution. Attention is the
most common cause of crashes. Whether its a smartphone, food or
drink, or even just a billboard that caught your attention. You are
putting you and others at risk. Cars are weapons and should be
treated as such. Be careful while driving because nobody wants a
manslaughter charge.

However,
the culture as a whole can be a danger as well. The “keeping up
with traffic” rule only makes all cars go way over the speed limit.
And the “5 over” rule makes no sense, the speed limits are chosen
for a reason. Nobody should go over that. Not to mention aggressive
drivers, who have no thought as to what would be the consequences of
their actions should they get in a crash. There is a fundamental
issue in just about everything we do while driving. Stay safe.
