What
Volunteerism Means to Me
I
have volunteered at a local church to help the underprivileged youth
in the area continue their S.T.E.M. learning throughout the summer.
In the beginning, I’d only volunteered because my mother worked
there and didn’t have much else to do over the summer. During my
time volunteering, I instantly fell in love with it. I was an amazing
feeling knowing that I was able to help multiple people further the
education and love for learning while showing them that they could
have fun doing it. I have volunteered there for three summers in a
row now and plan to continue volunteering as long as I am able. I am
happy to say that I have found a way to have a positive effect on
individuals lives and have thoroughly enjoyed doing so. I volunteered
over the summer for over one hundred hours for three summers so far
and plan to continue.
