Driving
is something that every teenager looks forward too, and as technology
progresses, it becomes safer and safer for every person on the road.
However, technology alone cannot guarantee complete safety for the
driver and passengers, the car’s tech can only help the driver so
much. It is the responsibility of the driver to make sure that there
aren’t any accidents, yet, many drivers grow arrogant and loose
sight of what is important. Moreover, due to the arrogance and
ignorance of many drivers, many accidents occur every day, especially
with teenagers since they tend to be some of the most arrogant
drivers and don’t seem to care or understand that the wrong
decision can prove fatal on the road. Yet, even so, there is a
growing population of teenagers who are aware of the coherent risk of
distracted driving and are willing to take action to try and prevent
future accidents.

I
believe, that in order to prevent accidents, drivers need to remove
any and all distractions that could cause them to look anywhere away
from the road. For example, people need to refrain from using their
phone when they drive. Phones are one of, if not the, main
distractors for drivers that cause accidents. Drivers, when they are
on their phone, don’t pay attention to what is happening and have
an increase risk of running into other drivers which could prove
fatal. However, there has been an increase in driver safety awareness
by teens and young adults, and with that there has been a hope that
accidents and fatalities will decrease, and they seem to be working
well. Additionally, there has also been an emphasis on targeting a
younger demographic of drivers and drivers to be in order to have
them understand what it means to be a responsible driver.

In
conclusion, teaching others about the importance of being a
responsible driver is the most important step that others can make to
ensure that the roads are safer for, not only the other drivers, but
also pedestrians that walk on the streets. However, people aren’t
perfect and sometimes will continue to be arrogant and ignorant,
thinking that they know everything and that nothing bad will ever
happen to them. Hence, it is ever more important to emphasize that in
driving, there is no room for arrogance because it is people’s
arrogance that cause accidents on the road.
