Your
Life Depends On You Driving Safely

Imagine
yourself getting into a fatal car crash and losing your life… All
because you made one wrong choice while driving! That’s super
terrifying to think about! That can actually happen; all is takes is
one wrong action while you’re driving to lose your life. Every time
you get behind the wheel and get on the road, you agree, without even
thinking about it, to a bet of your life that you will drive safely.
That is why it is extremely important that you do not do anything
that will curtail your survival odds on the road while you are
driving.

The
leading cause of deaths in car crashes is NOT wearing a seat belt.
This is a very wrong choice while driving. The reason seat belts were
made is because of the presence of inertia our bodies and our cars
contain. Inertia is an object’s resistance to change in motion.
When a driver is moving at a speed of 35 miles per hour on a road,
their body has inertia and wants to keep moving at that speed.
Fortunately, when the driver suddenly has to stop driving, the seat
belt an overcome their inertia, which is a good thing. Now suppose
that driver got into a crash that brings their car to a complete stop
in less than a second. Their car is stopped, but the driver gets
ejected through the car windshield. The driver’s inertia caused the
driver to not stop with the car. Without seat belts, there is nothing
to overcome your inertia so you do not go flying through a vehicle or
slam into the steering wheel and cause severe injury to yourself.

Another
wrong choice to make while driving is texting while driving. Your
eyes must be looking at the road constantly while driving because
ANYTHING can happen on the road while you are driving. You can’t
take your eyes off the road for even three seconds. Someone could run
out into the street, a car could make a crazy turn or swerve in front
of you, or any other hazard can pop up without warning. Concentrating
on the road helps your reaction to unannounced hazards in order to
minimize the chances of damage to you and anyone else. People may
think they can multitask while driving, but car accidents in our
country prove them wrong. Your life is far more important than
responding to a text, so it can wait.

A
third wrong choice to make before and/or while getting on the road is
drunk driving. Consuming alcohol causes you to have blurry vision,
become mentally unstable, and it limits your ability to concentrate
on the road. This is a scary combination that can threaten your life
on the road. Not only does it threaten your life, you can also get a
$10,000 fine for doing so. Do not drink and drive.

It
is very important to make the right decisions when you drive. Driving
may seem terrifying when you look at the risks, but as long as you do
NOT intentionally do anything foolish, you will win the bet of your
life that you will drive safely.
