From the time when I was little to the time I actually started to
take my drivers ed class, I only knew that I wanted to
drive just for the thrill. I had not been thinking about the
responsibilities it came with. When I started to take my driver’s
education class, there was way more that I needed to know before I
became a teenage driver. It was shocking when I had read statistics
about how many people have died due to car accidents. It is very
important for everyone to know how many deaths occur when driving,
not just people learning how to drive, but the younger and older
people too. If we all learn about the number of deaths that driving
effects, then many would try to reduce that number, which is very
important now that many teens are starting not to care about the
rules they need to follow while on the road.

In order to
reduce the number of deaths due to car accidents I believe putting
more of the radar speed displays on roads that do not have any stop
signs or intersections would be helpful. Also another idea could be
more signs on the road, warning drivers about accidents. There have
been moments where one of my family members are driving recklessly,
and although they never want to hear my opinion, I always tell them
to slow down especially while I am in the car, because there might
come a day when no one would be able to tell you to slow down. I am
really big on driving safe because my uncle and his son both died due
to car accidents, at different times. In order to be a safe driver
myself and to encourage others to also be safe drivers I feel that I
should promote it more, for example, have bumper stickers, and
posters to remind myself and others to drive safe. I also feel that
if I share my story about my uncle and cousin more, who were
innocently killed due to these car accidents more, that people will
then take their lives and others serious especially while on the
road. Hopefully they will also take in consideration thinking before
they get into a car, whether they are a passenger witnessing reckless
driving, or the driver doing the reckless driving.
